Spring is here and so are the spring shoe trends that will completely change your outfit! Every woman loves a good reason to go shopping and the turning of a new season is just as good of an excuse as anything else!  While the spring clothing trends are definitely an exciting topic, today I’m going to focus on the footwear because spring 2016 has some really fabulous shoe trends that can’t go without their own post!

After all, Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.”  So just in case you needed one more excuse to justify a day of spring shoe shopping, remind yourself that you’re just preparing to conquer the world!  So, what are the biggest shoe trends this season?  Well, I’ll give you a hint: each one is sure to transform any outfit of yours.  Even if you don’t get the chance to purchase some new spring clothes, you can at least rest assured knowing that an investment in footwear will make your old threads look brand new.  What do I mean?  Keep reading to find out. Wedding Hair & Makeup Trial

    • Shop the Look Above: Flannel Top: Rails LA  // Skinny Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft // Aviators: Coach // Booties: DSW

This past weekend my fiancé and I went to Charlottesville, Virginia to meet our wedding vendors since our wedding is in 3 months!  I cannot believe how quickly time has flown.  We got engaged in December 2014 and I always felt like our June 2016 wedding was so far away, but now it is almost here!  On Friday morning I had my hair and makeup trial with my hair stylist and makeup artist.  I had never met Brianna Adams my hair stylist, or Gohar Beaver my makeup artist, previously so I was super excited to meet them!  I booked both Brianna and Gohar a long time ago without even meeting them, or doing a hair and makeup trial, because they are extremely popular in Charlottesville and I wanted to have them for my wedding.  They also frequently work together with my wedding planner Cody Grannis for other Charlottesville weddings or styled shoots and both have amazing reviews on my favorite wedding website, Borrowed and Blue.   Read more

I’m always on the lookout for new e-commerce retail marketplaces, either to buy for myself, or to buy as gifts for friends and family.  I love finding smaller online companies or supporting local businesses with unique pieces and positive missions.  I recently stumbled upon Pasonga.  Pasonga is an e-commerce startup focusing on representing emerging designers from all around the world and their mission is “Wear the Difference”.  The company sells bathing suits, clothes, bags, shoes and accessories.  There is a small selection of items to buy, but everything is beautiful, vibrant and full of character.  The company’s mission statement is really inspiring.  I love how Pasonga’s e-commerce platform was built to empower emerging designers.  Read more

Wedding Paper Divas Wedding Planning Tips

I used Wedding Paper Divas to send out my save the dates.  Wedding Paper Divas is the best online stationary company and has save the dates, bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, thank you cards and pretty much anything wedding related you would need.  I recently found out that Wedding Paper Divas has a 12-month wedding planning timeline as well!  Their wedding planning timeline is actually really useful because it breaks out the major things you need to do up-front and then what you need to do, as it gets closer to your wedding.  Some topics in the timeline are similar to my suggestions in my prior post “Wedding Planning Tips.”  However, now that I’m getting close to our wedding (only 3 months away) most of my weekend is making sure I’m checking off all the small things I need to do.  It’s the small things that are such a pain.  Some of the major takeaways from Wedding Paper Divas’ 12-month wedding timeline are: Read more

    • Shop the Look Above: Coat: J Crew // Blouse: Banana Republic from Thred UP // Skirt: Theory // Faux Fur Scarf: Anthropologie // Purse: Stella McCartney // Booties: Sam Edelman // Sunglasses: Coach // Photos: Libro Musica

I love a good deal – and I don’t know many people who don’t love a good deal.  When I lived in Virginia, there was a high-end consignment store right near my Mom’s house and a really nice one in Georgtown that I used to go to find designer clothes at discounted prices.  Since moving to Atlanta, I’ve heard that there are some great consignment stores, but I haven’t had time on the weekend to find them.  Luckily I was browsing online (because I try to do most of my shopping online) and found Thred UP, a large online consignment and thrift store. Wedding Planning Tips

I do not claim to be wedding planning expert.  Reach out to my amazing wedding planner, Cody Grannis, or get inspiration from Style Me Pretty, the ultimate wedding blog, for the professional expertise.  However, wedding planning can be really stressful and a daunting task for many girls, but I’ve had quite the opposite experience.  I’ve loved planning my wedding and as much as I cannot wait to marry my fiancé in June, I’m sad I’m running out of things to plan (less than 5 months to go)!  🙂  I never had a Pinterest board of my “dream wedding” before I got engaged, which is really unbelievable since I’m the biggest girly girl and planner.  I always wanted to get married to my fiancé and of course I knew it would happen one day, but I never had actually planned out ideas for my future wedding before I got engaged.  But, I’m super OCD and a detail-oriented person.  I love fashion and interior design, but I don’t follow trends.  I know what I like and what I want, and that’s how I approached planning my wedding. Here are some tips and resources that may help you on your wedding planning journey…

Hey all!  Hope everyone is having a nice week!  I read an article in February’s Cosmopolitan talking about job happiness and how you can be happier at any job.  Caroline Webb, an expert in behavioral science has worked to increase job satisfaction for hundreds of employees in a wide variety of jobs.  She’s outlined her tips in her new book ‘How to Have a Good Day.’ Caroline Webb’s theory is that good days don’t just happen – they’re made.  Everyone has ups and downs at their job, myself included.  However, I’ve tried to be really positive on a daily basis and I’m much happier at my job than I used to be.  Caroline’s tips to be happier at any job are:  Read more

While the rest of the northeast is in a state of emergency due to the snow, we only had a small dusting in Atlanta, which has already melted.  My mother and sister sent me pictures from Virginia and the snow goes up all the way to the cars!  It’s insane!  We are lucky in Atlanta that we didn’t get the crazy storm.  However, it’s still cold here in Atlanta and we stayed in for most of the weekend.  On Sunday I took my fiancé to see the Book of Mormon which is playing at the historical Fox Theater in Midtown Atlanta.  The Fox Theatre was a former movie palace and is now a performing arts venue.    Read more

    Fashionable Resolutions for 2016

    • Shop the Look Above: Blouse: Boohoo // Black Skinny Ankle Pants: Ann Taylor // Ballet Flats: Tory Burch // Purse: Tory Burch // Photos: Libro Musica

I recently collaborated with Boohoo, a global online fashion retailer based in the U.K. offering thousands of affordable styles for both women and men.  Boohoo’s clothes are adorable and I got this floral blouse for only £16.00 (which equates to about $20 based on the exchange rate).  I participated in Boohoo’s ‘New Year Fashion Resolutions’ campaign to discuss what fashion trends, or items of clothing, I’m looking forward to wearing in 2016.  I’ve already listed my 2016 New Year’s resolutions in a prior blog post, but those resolutions included my personal health, beauty and fashion goals.  I recently came across an amazing InStyle Magazine article related to fashionable resolutions for 2016.  These fashionable resolutions will make 2016 the most fashionable year yet and the resolutions are: Read more
