    Summer Chic Essentials

I’ve been all over the place this summer, from my wedding in Virginia, to my honeymoon in Italy, to my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party in Miami, to my friend’s bachelorette party in Las Vegas, plus so many other places this summer!  I’ll be headed to two other bachelorette parties at the end of August.  One in Cape May, which I’ve never been to so I’m really excited to attend and another one in Baltimore.  Baltimore is such a fun city and I’m looking forward to that as well!  Whenever I’m traveling and know I’m headed to the pool or a beach I always pack my must-haves.  I always need a cute bathing suit and cover up, like this new off the shoulder white lace romper I got online at Romwe!  I’ve gotten more conservative as I’ve gotten older and I’m not as comfortable walking around in only my bathing suit.  I love white in the summer and this lace romper is just the cutest!  It has a drawstring to adjust the size because it’s one size fits all.  It’s also another $20 purchase!  I love finding good deals and the romper shipped really quickly! I also have been searching for some new bathing suits and I found some really cute affordable ones at Adore Me!

    Colorblock Dress

During the summer I’m more social and like to grab dinner or drinks with friends or coworkers (during the winter I hibernate).  So, having outfits that are versatile and can be worn at the office during the day and then transition seamlessly to social events after work is important!  It’s not always that easy because sometimes work clothes are just boring.  That’s why I’m obsessed with this new color block dress that I found on Amazon….and the best part is it is only $22!  Can’t really beat the price!  I love the two different patterns on the dress and the zipper on the bottom.  The zipper jazzes the dress up a bit.  It’s perfect for any occasion, including work, date night, happy hour or a girl’s night!   Read more

    Tacori Summer Sparkle

    • Shop the Look Above: Dress: LC Conrad from Kohls // Sunglasses: Coach

On Friday I went to a Tacori event at D. Geller & Son, one of the South’s longest standing diamond and fine jewelry companies.  D. Geller & Son is a family owned and operated business and the Geller family represents 14 generations and over 1,100 years in the jewelry industry.  Tacori sent their newest line of jewelry, never seen by the public, to D. Geller & Son.  My engagement band is from Tacori and I love it.  The “Tacori Summer Sparkle” event was so cute.  A bunch of local Atlanta fashion bloggers attended the event. D. Geller & Son had all the new Tacori jewelry out to try on and take photos with.  They had a champagne bar, chocolate bar and hors d’oeuvres.

    Gracewear

    • Shop the Look Above: Tunic: Gracewear // Fedora: Roxy // Sandals: Aerosoles

Now that it’s summertime, I’m going to be spending a lot of time at our pool in Atlanta or visiting my fiancé’s Mom and Step-Dad (my future in-laws) in Hilton Head.  I have light hair and light eyes so I know I’m more prone to skin damage unfortunately.  Whenever I lay out the pool or the beach, I make sure my fair skin is covered.  I always wear a hat and sunglasses and I also like to make sure my shoulders are covered so I can cover my skin if I feel like I’m getting too much sun.  I just got the cutest pink lace tunic from Gracewear!  The tunic is the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe.  I wore it to the pool this past weekend as a cover-up but it’s versatile so I can pair it with white skinny jeans or shorts.  I’m also in love with the eyelet tunic and am thinking about getting it in the Navy color.    Read more

    Memorial Day Weekend

    • Shop the Look Above: Leopard Dress: Equipment // Purse: Tory Burch // Sunglasses: Tory Burch // Blue Wedges: Aerosoles // Photos: Sanniyah Sloan

Happy Memorial Day!  Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!  I spent the first half of the weekend back home in Virginia and the second half of the weekend in Atlanta.  On Friday my Mom and I went to Georgetown, D.C. for my second bridal fitting at Hitched!  Any ladies shopping in the D.C. area for wedding dresses, I highly recommend going to Hitched (obviously I’m a little biased) and Lovely Bride.  Both bridal salons are located in Georgetown and are within walking distance of one another.  After my bridal fitting, my Mom and I went shopping for accessories to go with my wedding dress.   Read more

    Perfect White Summer Dress

    • Shop the Look Above: White Dress: Three Eighty Two // Fedora: Tory Burch // Clutch: Tory Burch // Wedges: Aerosoles // Photos: Sanniyah Sloan

I frequently shop online at Lyon + Post because I find new emerging designers that I love.  For my bridal shower I bought a blush dress by the brand Three Eighty Two.  I’d never heard of the brand Three Eighty Two before, so I researched the brand after I received so many compliments from my friends and family at bridal shower.  My bridal shower dress is called the “Mia 3/4 Surplice Dress” in the color Quartz.

Three Eighty Two launched in 2014, so the brand is only 2 years old.  Their collections are clean cut, minimalistic and classic.  I’m very girly and like to only invest in clothing pieces that are classic and can go with other items in my closet.  Three Eighty Two’s collection is comprised of chic pared down silhouettes blended with relaxed tailoring.  I’m sometimes horrible with wearing prints, but their collection mixes solids with some prints.  Three Eighty Two is sold online at a few retailers including South Moon Under, Revolve, Lyst and on Three Eighty Two’s website.

I love finding local boutiques and brands!  I found a new amazing brand, titled Blluemade, based out of Atlanta and I’m obsessed with the quality of their designs!  Blluemade is an emerging brand founded by a husband and wife team (how amazing is that?) born out of a desire to have garments that travel well and are both functional and elegant for your everyday wear.  To achieve this, Blluemade uses Belgium linen as the cornerstone of each garment as it is durable and sustainable with a beautiful natural texture + drape.  The flax used in the linen is harvested down to the roots, making the harvested fibers particularly long, soft, strong, and the finished-product wrinkle-resistant.     Read more

I’m always on the lookout for new e-commerce retail marketplaces, either to buy for myself, or to buy as gifts for friends and family.  I love finding smaller online companies or supporting local businesses with unique pieces and positive missions.  I recently stumbled upon Pasonga.  Pasonga is an e-commerce startup focusing on representing emerging designers from all around the world and their mission is “Wear the Difference”.  The company sells bathing suits, clothes, bags, shoes and accessories.  There is a small selection of items to buy, but everything is beautiful, vibrant and full of character.  The company’s mission statement is really inspiring.  I love how Pasonga’s e-commerce platform was built to empower emerging designers.  Read more

Wedding Paper Divas Wedding Planning Tips

I used Wedding Paper Divas to send out my save the dates.  Wedding Paper Divas is the best online stationary company and has save the dates, bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, thank you cards and pretty much anything wedding related you would need.  I recently found out that Wedding Paper Divas has a 12-month wedding planning timeline as well!  Their wedding planning timeline is actually really useful because it breaks out the major things you need to do up-front and then what you need to do, as it gets closer to your wedding.  Some topics in the timeline are similar to my suggestions in my prior post “Wedding Planning Tips.”  However, now that I’m getting close to our wedding (only 3 months away) most of my weekend is making sure I’m checking off all the small things I need to do.  It’s the small things that are such a pain.  Some of the major takeaways from Wedding Paper Divas’ 12-month wedding timeline are: Read more
