After spending a few days in Los Angeles and then in Santa Barbara, we continued north driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur. The drive is about 4 hours from Santa Barbara to Treebones, where we stayed in Big Sur. So, on the way to Big Sur we stopped at Daou Vineyards in Paso Robles for lunch.

After our weekend in Los Angeles, we headed north to Santa Barbara. Jeremy and I rented a lovely Ford Mustang convertible, which ended up being a breeze to drive. The drive from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara takes about 2 hours, depending on traffic. We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara during our visit.

Jeremy and I are back from our 10 day California vacation. As much as it’s nice to be home, I’m already missing our time on the West Coast. We started in Los Angeles and drove up North on California State Route 1. We heard from multiple friends how amazing the drive is. So we decided to make a trip out of it and explore the various cities and towns along the coast.

As I recapped in one of my prior posts, I hosted a ‘Vacation Chic with La Vie Petite’ styling event at the Fab’rik City Walk boutique. During the event, I wore this Fab’rik paisley romper. After leaving the store that day, I ended up purchasing a lot of summer staples, including these Jack by BB Dakota crochet shorts. Both the romper and the shorts are currently on sale for $40 each! I’m wearing a size small in both for sizing reference. One of the selling points of Fab’rik is that everything in the store is on trend, but also under $100 (except for jeans). So, Fab’rik is much more affordable compared to other boutiques.

I feel like I’m a constant nomad, but in a good way. After I got back from Fort Laurderale with my Mom and sisters I flew to DC for a girls weekend. My best friend Jess was having a big blow out bash for her 30th birthday. She actually just moved to Chicago, but wanted to have her birthday in DC since most of our friends and her family are on the East coast. Jess was one of my bridesmaids and is one of my best friends so I couldn’t miss birthday her celebration.

My Mom turned 60 in June, so my two younger sisters and I wanted to plan something big for her. Over the July 4 holiday weekend, we treated my Mom to a girls weekend to Fort Lauderdale. My Mom’s one request was to be able to relax at the beach and spend time together, so Fort Lauderdale was a great spot to do that. It’s more low key than Miami, but there is still a lot going on, especially during the holiday weekend.

On Saturday June 24, Jeremy and I celebrated my dear friend Melissa’s wedding in Virginia (see recap of Melissa’s bachelorette party). Melissa is such a beautiful person inside and out. We’ve been friends for over 10 years. I’m really thankful for Melissa’s friendship after all this time. So, Jeremy and I were pleased we could celebrate with Melissa and her (now) husband Brennan, on their wedding day.

Over Memorial Day weekend I flew out to the west coast to visit one of my best friends, Katie, in San Francisco. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities. If it wasn’t so expensive, I would love to live there with my husband. On Sunday Katie and I ventured out to wine country. Napa was having its annual ‘BottleRock‘ music festival, so we went wine tasting in Sonoma instead of dealing with the craziness in Napa.

Last weekend I traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia to celebrate my friend Melissa’s bachelorette party. I’ve known Melissa forever and she’s one of the sweetest people I know. We went to high school and to college together. Then after college we lived together in Arlington, Virginia. I wanted to wear this new white eyelet dress wine tasting, but I ended up wearing jeans and layering because it was so cold. But despite the weather, we still had a fabulous weekend.

While I was vacationing in Miami, I used my new Bersuse towel (see part 1 and part 2 recap of my Miami trip). Bersuse towels are high quality Turkish towels, but for an affordable price. The towels are hand-loomed in Turkey, and are %100 Turkish Cotton. I’m obsessed with my orange and purple Bersuse towel. The towel is extremely soft and the colors are bright and beautiful.

Check out my Miami Getaway // Part 1 post, for the first part of my Miami girls trip. My closest girlfriends and I all live in different cities so we try to plan weekends to visit one another. Tricia lives in Los Angeles, Jess lives in D.C., Laken lives in Baltimore, and Carly one of Tricia’s friends from Los Angeles came as well. So we had a fun girls weekend in South Beach Miami with 5 girls.

My closest girlfriends and I all live in different cities so we try to plan weekends to visit one another. My oldest and dearest friend, Tricia, lives in Los Angeles and organized a girls trip to South Beach Miami. I immediately jumped on the bandwagon for a girls weekend filled with sunshine, sand and mojitos. Most of my new outfits I got for Miami are from Tobi, because Tobi is affordable, but all the clothes are unique and have a laid back, West Coast vibe.
