Paisley & Crochet

As I recapped in one of my prior posts, I hosted a ‘Vacation Chic with La Vie Petite’ styling event at the Fab’rik City Walk boutique. During the event, I wore this Fab’rik paisley romper. After leaving the store that day, I ended up purchasing a lot of summer staples, including these Jack by BB Dakota crochet shorts. Both the romper and the shorts are currently on sale for $40 each! I’m wearing a size small in both for sizing reference. One of the selling points of Fab’rik is that everything in the store is on trend, but also under $100 (except for jeans). So, Fab’rik is much more affordable compared to other boutiques.

Mixing and Matching Prints

I’ve worn the Fab’rik paisley romper a few times, but most recently when I was in DC, I wore it to meet my friend Melissa for brunch. I wore it as a bodysuit instead of a romper under my Jack by BB Dakota crochet shorts. I’ve been trying to mix and match prints and fabrics. I love the rompers paisley print matched with the lace crochet shorts. I think it makes the print of the romper really pop. Plus, I love the darling front waist tie detail with the small key hole in the back.

Weekend Recap of Carlsbad, California

This past weekend my husband and I were in Carlsbad, California, which is about 30 miles outside San Diego. We stayed at the Omni Resort and Spa. My husband’s company hosted a retreat for the long weekend. My husband flew out Wednesday and I flew out Thursday and we left Sunday. I was planning to take photos to recap weekend, but we ended up just being lazy and relaxing. We hung out at the Omni resort, which is really nice, and one of the nights we went to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, where Top Gun was filmed. Even not knowing anything about planes, or helicopters, I was so excited. We were able to go into one of the helicopters and see where the Marines jump out. Many of the guys were geeking out. We had dinner and drinks in the airplane hanger.

The next two weekends my husband and I are actually home in Atlanta, Georgia. As much as I love traveling, I’m looking forward to two weekends at home. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

xx,

Lauren
