The Maroon Effect

  • Shop the Look Above: Dress: Exclusive by Intermix // Booties: Sam Edelman // Purse: Chloe // Sunglasses: Tory Burch // Photos: Stephen Matey

As a Virginia Tech Hokie, I love the maroon effect.  Any shade of maroon is my go to fall color because it goes well with my complexion.  I bought both the Exclusive for Intermix cut out back trench silk dress and Sam Edelman booties earlier this summer when I visited my sister in New York City.  We went shopping in Soho and I waited until the summer changed to fall to wear this silk dress and booties.  Now the Exclusive for Intermix dress is on sale for $200!  I’m so sad that I lost out on a good discount, but seriously if anyone is looking for nice day to night transition fall dress you must buy this dress!  The cut out back is also a little sexy surprise.  It is so comfortable and will look adorable layered with a scarf and light jacket once the weather gets cooler.  I just bought a new plaid scarf from ASOS that I definitely plan on wearing with this silk dress.  This is the first Chloe purse I own and was definitely a splurge.  However, the cream, black and gold is perfectly timeless and I am so happy I bought it.  When I see the Chloe protection bag in my closet with my other purses I just smile.  Every girl deserves to have a Chloe bag at some point in her life.  🙂

xx,

Lauren

I love the maroon effect too! I find that it brings out one’s natural blush. I love how you styled it with those adorable booties.
And yes – I agree with you on how every girl needs a Chloe bag. 🙂
