This past weekend I went to Cape May for one of my best friend’s, Lanie’s bachelorette parties!  Lanie and I went to college together, were in the same sorority, were also roommates and were pretty much attached at the hip during college.  She’s one of the sweetest girls I know and we had such a blast in Cape May celebrating one of her last weekends before she becomes a married woman!  Her wedding will be in October in Martha’s Vineyard and I CANNOT WAIT!  Martha’s Vineyard is such a beautiful island and an October wedding is going to be stunning.  I had such a blast catching up with Lanie and the rest of the girls, and I didn’t want to sneak away from the festivities to take photos, so these photos are actually from Hilton Head, where I went two weekends ago for a family trip.  

The Maid of Honor, Meredith, who is another one of my closest college friends, and Lanie’s sister, Carrie, who is the Matron of Honor planned the weekend and it was such a fun girls weekend!  We stayed at the beachfront Marquis de Lafayette Hotel.  According to the website, the Marquis de Lafayette Hotel is America’s oldest seaside resort and Cape May is one of the best beaches serving guests since 1885.

On Friday, Lanie and the rest of the bridesmaids drove up from Northern Virginia and got to Cape May around lunchtime.  They spent the day at the beach.  I flew into Atlantic City, because it was the closest airport to Cape May.  It was a 45-minute drive from Atlantic City to Cape May and I got there around 5:30pm.  By the time I got to the hotel everyone was coming in from the beach.  Friday night we stayed in and relaxed at the hotel.  Lanie, Meredith and Carrie had an awesome hotel suite, which was basically an apartment.  Friday night we cooked fish and chicken tacos and all caught up, which was great because I hadn’t seen some of these girls since college!  Saturday we spent the entire day at the beach and then got ready and went to dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern.

The Blue Pig Tavern is one of the most famous restaurants in Cape May and is known for its classic American comfort food.  We sat outside on the wonderful, secluded patio.  The food was amazing; we got oysters and buffalo mozzarella as appetizers to share, and for my entree I got the seafood angel hair pasta.  After dinner, we enjoyed the piano bar at the Blue Pig Tavern and then went to a few bars afterward.  Sunday morning I left fairly early to catch my flight back home to Atlanta.  It was a short weekend, but so nice to catch up with everyone.  I think Lanie had an amazing time, and that’s what matters.  I cannot wait for her wedding in Martha’s Vineyard in October!
