Merry Christmas from my family to yours!  Every family has their own Christmas/holiday traditions.  This was the first year my fiancé and I had to travel to visit family since we no longer live in Virginia.  We went to Hilton Head for a couple of days before Christmas to spend an early Christmas with Jeremy’s Mom, Stepdad and sister.  My fiancé’s Mom and Stepdad used to live in Virginia and retired and moved to Hilton Head last winter.  On Christmas Eve morning we flew out to Virginia to see my family. We always spend Christmas Eve with my Mom’s side of the family.  My Mom comes from a large family and they all live in northern Virginia.  My Mom has 5 brothers and sisters (my aunts and uncles) and almost all of them have kids (my cousins).  When we were younger we’d spend Christmas Eve at my Grandmother’s house, but the last couple of years my Mom has hosted it.  I love my crazy, large family.

I recently went to Ponce City Market for my first time!  Ponce City Market is a new indoor/outdoor shopping center in Atlanta.  The historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building in Atlanta, built in 1926 was renovated to create Ponce City Market.  Ponce City Market is Atlanta’s largest adaptive reuse project and has been reinvented as a vibrant community hub housing various shops, dining, apartments and offices, all while pointing back to the roots of the original Sears, Roebuck & Co. building.  Ponce City Market infuses vigor and excitement into this historically-significant building, located in one of Atlanta’s most cherished neighborhoods.  Ponce City Market is centrally located near Atlanta’s neighborhoods of Old Forth Ward, Virginia Highland and Midtown.   Continue reading

    Just Female Cape

    • Shop the Look Above: Wool Cape: Just Female // Blouse: Pleione // Skinny Jeans: Ann Taylor // Riding Boots: Banana Republic // Sunglasses: Coach // Purse: Michael Kors // Photos: Siddharth Somani

One of my Fall fashion goals was to find a cute cape to layer with during the Fall and winter seasons.  I’m obsessed with the cape fashion trend, but it is hard being petite and finding a cape where I don’t look like I’m wearing a blanket.  I had a few failed cape attempts, but then I received this wool knit cape by Just Female from my Lyon + Post shipment.  Just Female’s cocoon knit cape is a great Fall/winter-layering piece that features an oversized poncho-like silhouette with an all-over ivory and black windowpane plaid in a fuzzy mohair wool blend.  The cape has a collarless neckline and drop shoulder cap sleeves with no closure.  The cape is warm and cozy but still extremely flattering and stylish.   Continue reading

    Joie Sweater

    • Shop the Look Above: Sweater: Joie // Blouse: Pleione from Nordstrom // Black Skinny Jeans: Ann Taylor // Riding Boots: Banana Republic // Hat: ASOS // Purse: Michael Kors // Photos: Siddharth Somani

This black and white Joie wool-blend printed sweater was the third item I received from my Lyon + Post shipment!  I saw the Joie sweater on Lyon + Post and I had to try it on at home, along with the red and the black cocktail dresses.  If you haven’t seen my earlier blog posts, Lyon + Post is an online boutique that sends up to 4 items of clothing/accessories to your home to try on before you purchase.  The items are shipped to your home and you have 7 days to try on, with no obligations!  You only pay for what you decide to keep!  The Joie draped collar wool sweater is super soft and cozy.  I love how the interior fabric of the sweater is slightly lighter than the rest of the sweater’s fabric.  I guess that’s why the color of the Joie wool sweater is called “caviar/porcelain.” Continue reading
