Weekend Basics

Even though it was cold this past weekend at least it was sunny out. My weekend basics are jeans, t-shirts and a warm jacket. If you’re looking for go-to basics, the best basics store is American Apparel. Unfortunately (if you haven’t heard by now), American Apparel is bankrupt and closing all its brick and mortar stores. So sad!

 American Apparel

American Apparel is a clothing label known for its made-in-the-USA cotton basics in modern and retro styles.  The company filed for bankruptcy and was purchased by a Canadian company, Gildan Activewear. American Apparel plans to close all of its 110 U.S. stores by the end of April. The company has been around for almost 30 years and has been known for its staples. This seriously is a bummer, but if you’re in the need for some basics, head to America Apparel now! My friend and I grabbed brunch on Saturday and stopped by the American Apparel store on Euclid Ave in Atlanta. I got this basic white v-neck shirt, two tank tops and got my husband a v-neck shirt, all for $50. Everything in the store and online is 40% off.

Weekend Basics

A white t-shirt is so versatile. I layered my American Apparel cotton t-shirt with my skinny jeans and leather jacket. I plan on wearing this cotton shirt with anything, skirts, shorts and pants. Since everything at American Apparel is so cheap right now, I may buy this shirt in more colors. RIP American Apparel! I hope once everything gets settled with the buyout, they will figure things out.

xx,

Lauren
