    Atlanta’s 4th annual Culture Shock Show was held on Saturday October 17 at the Georgia World Congress Center.  The Culture Shock Show showcased art, talent and fashion from different cultures, creating a positive reflection of cultural appreciation in the diaspora.  The theme was “Africa Meets Asia” and highlighted the similarities of African and Asian cultures.  Continue reading

    Tulum, Mexico

    Hi all, so I’m leaving to go on vacation to Riviera Maya, Mexico for a couple of days so I thought I’d do a throw back to when I went to Tulum, Mexico three years ago for Christmas.  Tulum is basically in Riviera Maya but closer to the Mayan temples.  We stayed in a private villa so we had the house staff to take care of us.  Everyone was so sweet!  We had our own cook who made us breakfast, lunch and dinner with fresh ingredients every day and the best guacamole I’ve ever had!  I got my scuba diving license while I was there, we visited the Mayan ruins and pretty much just relaxed at the beach all day.  Continue reading

    Malibu Cafe & Malibu Wines

    Last summer I visited my best friend who lives in Los Angeles.  We spent the day and went up to Malibu Cafe for lunch and then went wine tasting at Malibu Wines.   Malibu Cafe at Calamigos Ranch is a family owned and operated restaurant with a rustic southern California vibe.  It is secluded atop the Malibu Hills and is well worth the scenic drive.  Malibu Wines is only about a five minute drive from the cafe and offers valet parking as well as a free shuttle service 1/2 mile west of the Malibu Wines tasting room.  A preppy and relaxed outfit is necessary for a southern California outing.   Continue reading
