Happy Memorial Day! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! I spent the first half of the weekend back home in Virginia and the second half of the weekend in Atlanta. On Friday my Mom and I went to Georgetown, D.C. for my second bridal fitting at Hitched! Any ladies shopping in the D.C. area for wedding dresses, I highly recommend going to Hitched (obviously I’m a little biased) and Lovely Bride. Both bridal salons are located in Georgetown and are within walking distance of one another. After my bridal fitting, my Mom and I went shopping for accessories to go with my wedding dress.
We went to BHLDN and JCrew. I was disappointed with JCrew’s customer service. Usually JCrew has the best customer service. The Georgetown JCrew has a bridal section and I asked if I could look at the accessories. The sales associates at JCrew said the Bridal section is by appointment only, which I completely understand, but all I wanted to see was the jewelry. They still wouldn’t let me see anything. I told them I was only in DC for the day so I couldn’t make a future appointment. Since JCrew wasn’t helpful my Mom and I went to BHLDN, which is in the Georgetown Anthropologie. You don’t need an appointment and you can see a selection of some of the bridal dresses and wedding accessories. I ended up buying my wedding accessories online because BHLDN didn’t have everything on display but it was nice to see some items out to compare. I cannot wait to show you all everything on my wedding day!
Saturday I flew back home to Atlanta because my fiancé’s father and cousin came to visit for the weekend and his stepsister and her fiancé moved to Atlanta! I am soooooo happy his stepsister and her fiancé moved to Atlanta! I love them so much and am so happy we will have family in the immediate area. His father also lives in Maine so we don’t see him that often, so it was so nice to have family time. Saturday night we had a family dinner at Two Urban Links, which was AMAZING! Sunday, my fiancé, his father and I went to the Coca-Cola museum. We had never been to the Coca-Cola museum since moving here. The museum was cool, but I probably wouldn’t go again. There were so many people there Memorial Day weekend.
In all it was such a great weekend. But we also can’t forget why Memorial Day is so important. We need to remember the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. I personally don’t know anyone who has died while serving the armed forces, but I cannot imagine losing a loved one. My thoughts are out to all those who have.
xx,
Lauren
