Miami Getaway // Part 1

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”2588556″]

My closest girlfriends and I all live in different cities so we try to plan weekends to visit one another. My oldest and dearest friend, Tricia, lives in Los Angeles and organized a girls trip to South Beach Miami. I immediately jumped on the bandwagon for a girls weekend filled with sunshine, sand and mojitos. Most of my new outfits I got for Miami are from Tobi, because Tobi is affordable, but all the clothes are unique and have a laid back, West Coast vibe.

Friday March 31

Carly, one of Tricia’s good friends from LA ended up being on my flight out of Atlanta. Then we met up with my friend Jess (who lives in DC) and my friend Laken (who lives in Baltimore) in Miami. Tricia booked us rooms at the Shelborne hotel in South Beach for the weekend. The Shelborne hotel is a historical Art Deco landmark in Miami and is in a perfect location, on 18th and Collins, right in the heart of South Beach. The Shelborne has a vintage chic design, dining and private beach.

Friday we got lunch at a local Cuban spot and walked around South Beach. The people watching at South Beach is always so great. Friday night Tricia didn’t get in until 9pm so we grabbed a late dinner and drinks at a local Italian spot.

Saturday April 1

On Saturday we spent the day relaxing at the pool. The Shelborne’s pool is amazing, but make sure you get there early so you get chairs. Since Laken and I were early birds we grabbed 5 chairs for all of us so we could sit together. The pool itself is pretty small, but has great live music and is easy to grab food and drinks. 😉 Saturday night we grabbed dinner at the W’s signature restaurant, the Dutch. The food at the Dutch was great, but extremely overpriced. I’m sure we could have gotten a cheaper meal with the same quality of food elsewhere, but you pay for the ambiance. After dinner we went dancing at Bodega. Bodega looks like a regular taco restaurant, but you go through a speakeasy type door (aka through nasty toilets) to get to the lounge/dance area. It was super fun.

I’ll be posting details from the rest of my Miami trip later this week on La Vie Petite!

xx,

Lauren
