Martha’s Vineyard Part 1

Last weekend I was in Martha’s Vineyard celebrating my college roommate and sorority sister, Lanie’s wedding!  Lanie’s family has had a house in Oak Bluffs for generations and she has spent every one of her summers at Martha’s Vineyard.  I visited her the summer after we graduated college and I fell in love with the island.  Brian (her now husband) proposed while they were vacationing on the island and I was hoping she’d get marred on Martha’s Vineyard.  So when I got the wedding invitation I was so pumped to spend a weekend at Martha’s Vineyard again.  It takes planes, trains and automobiles to get to Martha’s Vineyard, but when you get to the island it’s completely worth it.

My husband couldn’t come, so I enjoyed a girls weekend with my other two college roommates, one of my other best college friends and their significant others.  We rented a little house in Oak Bluffs from Airbnb, so the 6 of us could spend time together, rather than us all getting hotel rooms.  I’ve never stayed at an Airbnb before, but the house was extremely affordable, in a great location and super quaint!  On Friday we went to dinner at Offshore Ale Company, a local brewery, which is also where Lanie’s brother works.  After dinner we headed to the Barn Bowl & Bistro where Lanie and Brian hosted welcome drinks.

Saturday morning we made breakfast at our house and rented bikes for the day.  The weather in Martha’s Vineyard was chilly so I layered with a flannel top, sweater and my new Tory Burch riding boots I got with the 30% sale Tory Burch had the other day.  We biked around Oak Bluffs and then headed to the Edgartown Lighthouse.  Everything about the island is so charming. After biking around the island we made our way back to our house to get ready for the wedding!  Next post I’ll recap Lanie and Brian’s wedding!  <3

xx,
Lauren
