After Rome, we went to Florence and the Amalfi coast for the remainder of our honeymoon.  We took a train from Rome to Florence.  The first day we were in Florence we enjoyed a guided walking tour to learn the history of the city.  In the morning we skipped the line at Florence’s Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, ‘David.’  While I was taking photos of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ my Canon point and shoot camera died.  So, Florence was the last day I could take photos on my camera.  The rest of the photos I took while we were on our honeymoon was with my iPhone.

After we visited the Accademia Gallery, we crossed the Ponte Vecchio and got to skip the line to visit the Duomo.  In the afternoon we toured the Uffizi Gallery.  We had time to explore independently to see the art at our own pace.  The Uffizi Gallery was beyond stunning.  I could have stayed in the gallery for days.   Continue reading

We spent 16 days in Italy for our honeymoon!  We went to Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast (we stayed in Positano and then on the island of Capri).  I’d never been to Italy before and it has been on the top of my travel bucket list.  We got married on Saturday June 18 and left on a red-eye flight Monday June 20 after our wedding.  Luckily the Atlanta airport had a non-stop flight to Rome.  In Rome we stayed in the Westin Excelsior in Rome, an upscale Starwood hotel in an elegant landmark building.  The Westin Excelsior is in a great location, only a 13-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain.   Continue reading

    Tacori Summer Sparkle

On Friday I went to a Tacori event at D. Geller & Son, one of the South’s longest standing diamond and fine jewelry companies.  D. Geller & Son is a family owned and operated business and the Geller family represents 14 generations and over 1,100 years in the jewelry industry.  Tacori sent their newest line of jewelry, never seen by the public, to D. Geller & Son.  My engagement band is from Tacori and I love it.  The “Tacori Summer Sparkle” event was so cute.  A bunch of local Atlanta fashion bloggers attended the event. D. Geller & Son had all the new Tacori jewelry out to try on and take photos with.  They had a champagne bar, chocolate bar and hors d’oeuvres.
