Julia Engel from Gal Meets Glam is one of my favorite bloggers. So, when Julia announced she was collaborating with Frye, I couldn’t wait to hear the details. Frye is known for its high quality craftsman leather boots. Over the years I’ve had my eyes on a few pairs of Frye boots. However, as my style is more feminine I wasn’t in love with any of the pieces (where I had to have them). Plus, since Frye’s quality is so great, the price tag matches the quality. Therefore, I couldn’t convince myself I needed to spend almost $400 on a pair of boots unless I was completely in love with them.

Then, Julia redesigned a limited edition Sabrina “Glam” boot in a beautiful dusty rose color and in a taupe color. The Sabrina boot is already a popular Frye boot; however, Julia added her own feminine touches. She added pretty grosgrain ribbon ties if you want a more feminine look and suede leather laces if you want a more rugged look. When the boots launched on her blog as well as Frye’s website, I knew I had to have a pair in the dusty rose color.
The boots sold out online immediately when they launched on Thursday October 26. Then, Julia hosted a celebration that evening at the Frye store in NYC (144 5th Ave) for fans to meet her and to try on the boots. Both the NYC store and a Chicago store had the shoes, but wouldn’t release them until after the in-store events. However, as I was determined to get a pair, I called the NYC store Friday October 27 when they opened and asked for the dusty rose in my size. Luckily they did and they shipped them to me! The woman at Frye who helped me was so sweet!
When the Sabrina Glam boots arrived, I was so pleased to find out that they are even more beautiful in person! Plus, the boots are super comfortable. I love them so much and plan to wear them the rest of the Fall and into the winter! Unfortunately, since these were limited edition boots, now that they are sold out, I don’t think they are making anymore. However, I’ve put links up to the regular Sabrina Frye boots to check those out. Hopefully Frye will release more down the road!
