    Miami Girls Weekend

    [show_shopthepost_widget id=”2451611″]

I’m headed to a girls weekend to Miami at the end of March! My best girlfriends and I live far apart from one another (from the east coast to the west coast) so we try to plan a girls trip once a year. Last May we celebrated my bachelorette/birthday party in Nashville. Then in June in Virginia, I saw everyone at my wedding. But that was about 8 months ago (time flies) so it’s about time we get together again! I also can’t believe I’ve been married for almost a year!  Read more

    Holidays 2016

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday with their loved ones!  Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Now that I live in Atlanta, I don’t see my family as much as I’d like to.  So, I look forward to the moments I can be home.  We spent the holidays in Virginia and will be heading to Hilton Head on Wednesday to see my husband’s family.   Read more

    Mystic Falls

One of my best friends (and bridesmaids in my wedding), Jess visited Atlanta two weekends ago.  We’re both obsessed with the CW drama, ‘The Vampire Diaries‘. The Vampire Diaries takes place in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.  Mystic Falls is the real life town of Covington, Georgia, and is only 45 minutes away from Atlanta.  So, I booked Jess and I tickets to tour the town of Covington and see where the Vampire Diaries films.  The Vampire Diaries is in its last season (so sad) so we had to check out the tour before the last episode airs!

    Bradenton, Florida

Last weekend my sister Alissa and I made a quick trip to Bradenton, Florida to visit our grandparents and our aunt. Alissa flew from New York City and I flew from Atlanta and we met in the Tampa airport.  Our youngest sister Caylen had a wedding to attend to in New Orleans so she couldn’t make it to Bradenton with Alissa and I.

    James Monroe’s Highland

Jeremy and I were in Charlottesville this past weekend celebrating his friend, Porter’s wedding. Jeremy and Porter met their first year of Darden business school and lived together their second year.  They became close friends and Porter was one of Jeremy’s groomsmen in our June wedding.  Porter met Katie (his now wife) at Darden so it came full circle last weekend when they got married in Charlottesville.  Read more

    Martha’s Vineyard Part 2

Lanie and Brian’s wedding was on Saturday October 15 at the Martha’s Vineyard Sailing Camp.  The Martha’s Vineyard Sailing Camp is on 15 wooded acres and sits high on a Bluff and overlooks the Lagoon Pond and outer Vineyard Haven Harbor.  The view for the wedding was spectacular and something out of a romantic movie.  I kept asking myself when Ryan Gosling would appear… Lanie and Brian’s wedding reception was held inside the Martha’s Vineyard Sailing Camp facility and featured timbered vaulted ceilings and a fieldstone fireplace. The entire wedding was so cozy and beautiful. Lanie really outdid herself on planning her wedding.  Read more

    Martha’s Vineyard Part 1

Last weekend I was in Martha’s Vineyard celebrating my college roommate and sorority sister, Lanie’s wedding!  Lanie’s family has had a house in Oak Bluffs for generations and she has spent every one of her summers at Martha’s Vineyard.  I visited her the summer after we graduated college and I fell in love with the island.  Brian (her now husband) proposed while they were vacationing on the island and I was hoping she’d get marred on Martha’s Vineyard.  So when I got the wedding invitation I was so pumped to spend a weekend at Martha’s Vineyard again.  It takes planes, trains and automobiles to get to Martha’s Vineyard, but when you get to the island it’s completely worth it.  Read more

    The BoatHouse Canton

One of my closest friends, Laken, got married the weekend of September 24.  She lives in Baltimore and had her wedding festivities in the Baltimore area. Friday September 23 her in-laws hosted her wedding rehearsal at the Boathouse Canton, a waterfront grille and seafood restaurant, on the waterfront of Tindeco Wharf in Baltimore’s renowned Harbor.  We had a private indoor and outdoor area at the Boathouse Canton with waterfront views of the Harbor.  The menu was amazing and the crab cakes were to die for.  My husband and I spent the evening catching up with Laken, her husband and both of their families.  On Saturday September 24 she got married at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House.

Roanoke Wedding Festivities – Part 2 Wedding Ceremony & Reception

Saturday September 17 was Demi and Nick’s wedding day!  They got married at 5pm at the Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia.  Demi, my husband, and their other sister Molly lived in Roanoke when they were younger.  My father-in-law was a headmaster at a private Roanoke Catholic school.  Nick grew up in Roanoke as well, which 1. Is such a small world and 2. Crazy that Nick and Demi never ran into each other when they were little.  For the wedding, the bridesmaids wore blush Amsale gowns and the groomsmen wore tuxedos.  The wedding ceremony was extremely touching.  I cried when Demi walked down the aisle with her grandfather.  She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress.  After the wedding ceremony, an old fashioned trolley transported the wedding guests from the Church to the reception at the Patrick Henry Hotel.   Read more

Roanoke Wedding Festivities – Part 1 Rehearsal Dinner

This fall we have 5 weddings we are attending!  This past weekend we had my sister-in-law’s wedding in Roanoke!  My sister-in-law, Demi, and now brother-in-law, Nick, are perfect for one another.  We had such a great time celebrating with them this weekend!  I went to Virginia Tech for college, which is only about 30 minutes from Roanoke.  However, I never really spent much time in Roanoke.  Downtown Roanoke is really precious.  They have a great selection of restaurants and boutique shops.  My husband and I got in Friday afternoon and grabbed a late lunch at Fork in the Alley.  After stuffing our faces with pizza, we walked around the shops for a bit.  We ended up buying artwork for our home from a local street vendor.  After exploring downtown Roanoke, we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Hotel Roanoke, which is absolutely gorgeous and looks like a castle.  Read more
