Last weekend I was in Martha’s Vineyard celebrating my college roommate and sorority sister, Lanie’s wedding! Lanie’s family has had a house in Oak Bluffs for generations and she has spent every one of her summers at Martha’s Vineyard. I visited her the summer after we graduated college and I fell in love with the island. Brian (her now husband) proposed while they were vacationing on the island and I was hoping she’d get marred on Martha’s Vineyard. So when I got the wedding invitation I was so pumped to spend a weekend at Martha’s Vineyard again. It takes planes, trains and automobiles to get to Martha’s Vineyard, but when you get to the island it’s completely worth it.

One of my closest friends, Laken, got married the weekend of September 24. She lives in Baltimore and had her wedding festivities in the Baltimore area. Friday September 23 her in-laws hosted her wedding rehearsal at the Boathouse Canton, a waterfront grille and seafood restaurant, on the waterfront of Tindeco Wharf in Baltimore’s renowned Harbor. We had a private indoor and outdoor area at the Boathouse Canton with waterfront views of the Harbor. The menu was amazing and the crab cakes were to die for. My husband and I spent the evening catching up with Laken, her husband and both of their families. On Saturday September 24 she got married at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House.
Saturday September 17 was Demi and Nick’s wedding day! They got married at 5pm at the Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia. Demi, my husband, and their other sister Molly lived in Roanoke when they were younger. My father-in-law was a headmaster at a private Roanoke Catholic school. Nick grew up in Roanoke as well, which 1. Is such a small world and 2. Crazy that Nick and Demi never ran into each other when they were little. For the wedding, the bridesmaids wore blush Amsale gowns and the groomsmen wore tuxedos. The wedding ceremony was extremely touching. I cried when Demi walked down the aisle with her grandfather. She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. After the wedding ceremony, an old fashioned trolley transported the wedding guests from the Church to the reception at the Patrick Henry Hotel.
This fall we have 5 weddings we are attending! This past weekend we had my sister-in-law’s wedding in Roanoke! My sister-in-law, Demi, and now brother-in-law, Nick, are perfect for one another. We had such a great time celebrating with them this weekend! I went to Virginia Tech for college, which is only about 30 minutes from Roanoke. However, I never really spent much time in Roanoke. Downtown Roanoke is really precious. They have a great selection of restaurants and boutique shops. My husband and I got in Friday afternoon and grabbed a late lunch at Fork in the Alley. After stuffing our faces with pizza, we walked around the shops for a bit. We ended up buying artwork for our home from a local street vendor. After exploring downtown Roanoke, we checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Hotel Roanoke, which is absolutely gorgeous and looks like a castle.
